The restriction imposed on transporting goods from one place to another were removed. The producers were given freedom to fix prices of goods and services. Similarly the govt. simplified the policy of import and export also. Within a few day the positive results of such a approach became evident. Q10. From the last few years companies in India are looking at organized retailing as a good opportunity. In accordance with this view several companies have planned to enter this environment.  The Govt. Now people want better quality products, even if they have to pay more money for them.  The organized retailing is competent to fulfill this desire of the people.

The company was paying good salaries to the employees that helped the employees to have a good standard of living. She observed that this problem was faced by many of her colleagues, not only in her company but also in many other companies.  This was because of increase in the number of working women and non-availability of hygienic home cooked food. She identified this as a great opportunity & decided to give up her job to supply packed home cooked food to office goers at a reasonable price, after her father told her about the Start Up India project taken up by the PM Mr. Narinder Modi. She got her company registered under the Companies Act 2013 with the name CURRY2U Pvt. Ltd .She took orders online and provided home delivery. At the end of the day she was also distributing the leftover food in the nearby night shelters.

Kolkata Rice Foods Limited is a well known rice producing company.  The sales have been falling down right from the beginning of the year.  The Managing Director Mr. Dhiru Bhai Aggarwal is worried about the situation. With a view to find out the solution of this problem, he made a team of four persons. In this team one Manager, one Deputy Manager, one supervisor and one senior worker were included. After the survey, he told the following four reasons for the falling down of the company’s sales.
(i) On account of increase in Export Duty made by the Government, the foreign demand has gone down.
(ii) On account of the availability of several eatable substitutes the attention of people has been diverted from rice.
(iii) Some other rice producing companies have set up imported Machines with which they are producing better quality.
(iv) The export has been affected on account of bitterness created in the relations with one of the chief rice importing countries.
When this report reached the Managing Director, he arrived at the conclusion that all these changes had taken place so fast that they had not been able to guess or to cope with them in time.

Q31Nutan Tiffin Box service was started in Mumbai by Mumbai Dabbawalas. The Dabbawalas who are the soul of entire Mumbai aim to provide prompt and efficient services by providing tasty homemade tiffin to all office goers at right time and place. The service is uninterrupted even on the days of bad weather, political unrest and social disturbances. Recently they have started online booking system through their website ‘mydabbawala.com’. Owing to their tremendous popularity amongst the happy and satisfied customers and members, the dabbawalas were invited as guest lecturers by top business schools. The Dabbawalas operate in a group of 25-30 people along with a group leader. Each group teams up with other groups in order to deliver the tiffin on time. They are not transferred on frequent basis as they have to remember the addresses of their customers. They follow certain rules while doing trade- No alcohol during working hours; No leave without permission; Wearing of white cap & carrying ID cards during business hours.
 Recently on the suggestion of a few self motivated fellow men, the dabbawalas thought out and executed a plan of providing food left in tiffins by customers to slum children. They have instructed their customers to place red sticker if food is left in the tiffin, to be fed to poor children later.

Ramdas, aged 49 is working in an aviation company. He is the senior most employee in his division. He is even senior to the division manager, Kanaputti. Ramdas is considered one of the most committed, capable and hard-working employees. As a result of his abilities and seniority, he generally received the work assignments of his choice. Although there was no formal designation of various „special‟ projects assigned to Ramdas, he handled them as a matter of routine. A problem developed when an able and intelligent person Nagarjuna, aged 33, was appointed by Kanaputti. Nagarjun‟s previous three years‟ experience in the closely related work, made it possible for him to catch on to the routine work of his new job more rapidly than was customary for a new employee. On several occasions, Kanaputti noticed the tension developing between the two employees. However, he didn‟t want to get involved in their personal issues as long as the work was completed effectively and efficiently by them. One day, the tension between them reached the boiling point and Ramdas complained to Kanaputti stating that his duties were being largely taken over by Nagarjun. Kanaputti issued the order stating the clear allocation of the jobs and related duties between the two. He further clarified the working relationship between them by specifying who was to report to whom. This helped in reducing the workload, enhancing productivity and removing ambiguity.

„A business that doesn‟t grow dies‟, says Mr. Shah, the owner of Shah Marble Ltd. with glorious 36 months of its grand success having a capital base of `80 crores. Within a short span of time, the company could generate cash flow which not only covered fixed cash payment obligations but also create sufficient buffer. The company is on the growth path and a new breed of consumers is eager to buy the Italian marble sold by Shah Marble Ltd.
To meet the increasing demand, Mr. Shah decided to expand his business by acquiring a mine. This required an investment of `120 crores. To seek advice in this matter, he called his financial advisor Mr. Seth who advised him about the judicious mix of equity (40%) and Debt (60%). Mr. Seth also suggested him to take loan from a financial institution as the cost of raising funds from financial institutions is low. „Coconut Joy Ltd.‟ are the manufacturer of vegetarian frozen dessert food products made with coconut milk, agave syrup and other certified ingredients. The founders of the company Lovely and Lalita originally developed this treat to meet their own needs but found that their friends and families around were also keen to use the products. It was not only the vegetarians, but also those who could not get enough environment friendly sustainable food, that appreciated the product.
It did not take long for Lovely and Lalita to recognise the potential of their little venture. In the beginning they started from their home with the product being sold through local family parties that enable guests to personally meet the owner.
